ARC 3612 Project Management

 

Project 1 Defining and documenting a modular construction project

 

In a group of 7 people, each of the member should choose a role and work together to design and manage a simple construction project with the emphasize on COST, QUALITY, and TIME. The assesment is broken into two parts: 1) weekly mock Clien-Consultant Meeting (CCM) and 2) a report comprising the design, organizational chart, swot analysis, success criteria, work breakdown structure, gantt chart, risk analysis and maintenance proposal.

 

The requirement of the project is as such:

1) Maximum 5 storeys

2) Maximum land size 1000 sq m

3) Usage of a minimum of 50% recyclable products

4) Include rainwater harvesting system

Project 2 Documentation of a Medium-sized Project

 

This project is a documentation of Studio 6 Architecture Design Project in which principles learned from the previous project is applied.

 

From the point of view of a Project Manager as well as a Client, we are to write a document with 3 components in total:

1) Design Analysis - in which issues of PROGRAMME VIABILITY, DESIGN SUITABILITY, and MAINTENANCE STRATEGY                                     are identified.

 

2) Risk Analysis and Mitigation Strategy - Achieve an identified SUCCESS CRITERIA and project deliverables. 

 

3) Gantt Chart - showing overall construction strategy and possible critical path, plotted against time, with highlight on                                         PROJECT DELIVERABLES.
