Project: Theorizing Architecture
Part I: Analysing Self
In order to provide information on the architect in order to comprehend personal attributes that contribute to the construction of architectural theory.
This assignment is separated into two stages:
Stage I- Gather information on the architect and his/her works (group of 3)
Stage II- Analyse 'Self' (Individual) (Chilhood, Education, Working Experience)
The aim of this project is to directly observe and analyse the buildings of the architect to have an understanding of their architectural theory. It is meant to support the student's learning since doing architecture can be developed by studying the work of others.
Learning Outcome:
1.Analyse architecture and urban forms in relation to relevant architectural theories
2.Analyse and critique the relationship between architecture and its social, cultural and intellectual context
3.Produce, orally and in writing, a critical interpretation of architecture and urbanism in relation to relevant theories within the contemporary discourse of architecture

Part II: Analysing and Theorizing Architecture
This part of the project emphasizes on architecture being like a language with vocabulary, grammatical structure; both physical and interllectual. It caries messages and communicates meanings. In order to understand architecture, one must be aware of the conditions within which they are employed. In this project we are to analyse a building, that is already built or is being built, of the architect.

Synopsis: Interpreting Architecture
Synopsis attempts to interpret architecture accordin gto established architectural theory and conditions within which architecture is done. In this assignment that is broken into 4 synopsis, one each week we are to identify key points from the reading that is given every session. Students are to make use of appropriate architectural terminologies and writing skills in the synopsis. A case study shal be chosen to relate back to the reading and to illustrate the theory. At the end of each session, we are to come up with a presentation slide and to present the key points and facilitate dialogue within the group.

1. Describe the theoretical issues related to design through study of architecture and urbanism and its related studies
2. Relate architectural theories to contemporary architecture and urban forms
